The Hawbridge School is a four-year public high school that offers an enriched curriculum in Environmental Studies and the Arts and a focus on environmental stewardship as a problem of ethics. A highly accredited faculty teaches all courses needed for the North Carolina College Prep, College Tech Prep, and Career Prep diplomas.

Power & Energy

Physics and mathematics teacher Dick Harris is the Lead Teacher for the Power and Energy Unit. Physics students will restore the hydroelectric plant on Mill Creek over the course of the year, and much of the work will be done during the February Power and Energy Unit.

Solar energy and other alternative energy specialists abound in the Saxapahaw area and will visit the school to discuss environmentally friendly energy sources.
